Generate web site traffic

Generating traffic to your website or blog is perhaps one of the most difficult issues facing new websites. Blog traffic generation steps can include regular postings, posting to other blogs, building your list and submitting unique articles to article submission sites just to name a few.

It’s a long and arduous task. Who has the time and energy for all that, unless it is all they do? Unless you have a considerable stash to live on, or take a loan while building your online presence, a balance has to be found between the best ways to generate web site traffic and making a living. Not to mention family time and social/civil obligations.

To that end I have been trying out a couple of things. No real results yet but if you seem to be in the same Catch-22 you might want to check them out:

  1. Automatically post to your blog and to your Twitter account. During beta this is available for a measly $4.97. I am about as tight as bark on a tree, but this was a no-brainer, and I already feel I have gotten my money’s worth 5 days later just in the reawakening to my blog and Twitter account. It has built-in affiliate commissions which has potential for profit that is just icing on the cake. To date I am happy with the quality and usefulness of the program and the products it promotes.
  2. Quite some time ago I downloaded a free program called KeywordCorral. I have used it a little bit now and I think it has potential for finding multi-word keystrings that have significant search numbers with low competition. It comes with a pdf file and 2 videos explaining how to use it. The entire process is not simple, but seems to be well-thought out, and I used it to make the title for this post.

It is the lead-in product for the Web2Mayhem product and you can get the program, pdf and videos from: Web2Mayhem.

I am not an affiliate nor have I purchased the Web2Mayhem product. Given the thought that has gone into the free KeywordCorral program I believe it could be well worth the cost. Right now when I balance the cost to the time and effort I have available, it’s not my next purchase. I will be using the KeywordCorral program to investigate low competition, high search volume keywords that can be used for affiliate product promotions.

What do you think of CommissionsAutomator and KeywordCorral? What have you tried to bridge the time/energy gap to online success? Comments welcome as always!
